July 14 – 17, 2014: Time for another Cub Scout summer day camp. I volunteered again this year and ran the field sports station for the entire camp. There were several cool sport things we did but the most fun was the life-size foosball game!

Z was put in a group of Webelos and rotated to different stations each day. He loves day camp and gets to do so many cool things at camp! This year he excelled at the bbgun range and won the Webelos bbgun shooting competition. He got the closest shot on the card. Super cool dude! He got to cook, make a puppet and put on a show, make wood crafts, throw hammers, do relays, field sports, shoot arrows and bbguns, and he even got to camp out on the last night there with his Dad. Together they pitched their tent, cooked their meals, went geocaching and had a campfire.

I even got to travel camp one day with his group and I got to shoot arrows. I sure had a great time getting to experience some of Z’s last Cub Scout camp he will have since he will be transitioning into Boy Scouts soon. Cub Scout day camp is always a blast and Z and I always come home super tired!

May 24, 2013: We went to see a movie and eat lunch with some friends since there was no school on Friday. We also stopped off at my friend’s husband’s work so Z could see some of the Halo stuff. There as a lot of cool stuff to look at but I thought the full sized guy was pretty dang cool.

New Electric Guitar

Posted: May 23, 2010 in Uncategorized

Ok, we went ahead and did it. We got Z and electric guitar on May 15, 2010. It is used but nonetheless he LOVES IT! He couldn’t wait to get home and try it out. We caught some video of him jamming out and it is quite fun! But then the real show began, he had us sit down and watch him while he played and sang the Star Spangled Banner (his favorite song). You have to listen to them both. You will crack up! He is such a rock star!

Love the new jams!

Field Day at school

Posted: May 23, 2010 in School, Uncategorized

Thursday, May 20, 2010 was field day at Z’s school. It was originally scheduled for the week earlier but was changed to this date due to rain. It just so happened to be the same day Z’s grandparents had to fly home from thier visit so they couldn’t attend. Fortunately hubby and I were able to go with him to watch him have fun. It was all about water and getting wet. They had tons of water stations set up for the kids and it was a perfect day for it. They got HOSED and so did I. They loved the idea of getting mom wet. I didn’t mind at all, it was so much fun getting them wet right back. And Z’s teacher was so much fun as well and allowed the kids to get her wet. It was a great day!

Ready for some fun in water

Open house at school

Posted: August 25, 2009 in School, Uncategorized

August 20, 2009, was open house at the school. Before the open house, my friend T invited us to the school to have one on one time with Z’s teacher and to help her prepare the room (her daughter and Z were put in the same class on purpose). Z was thrilled to go meet the teacher! I was thrilled that we got the teacher we had hoped for and it was great to get some alone time with her. We helped with the giving tree and some work room stuff. We also got to meet all the special class teachers (art, music, theater arts, and PE). So by the time the evening came and it was time for open house, Z was so proud to walk his Daddy around the school and introduce him to all the teachers.

While in his classroom, we got to organize his school supplies and put his name of them. We got to do a few checklist things and then we headed home. It was a special day and night for Z and I think he is really ready for the big first day at Kindergarten! He can’t wait!

Thinking of our friends and family

Posted: September 13, 2008 in Uncategorized

I just wanted to take a minute to remember our good friends, J and J, in Houston. They have their house boarded up and were going to stay behind to face the hurricane head on. I hope this afternoon finds them safe and WITH electricity! They have 2 children so I hope all is well at J and J’s house.

Secondly, we have some dear friends here in Austin that are very sick. C and C  have been in urgent care and not doing very well. M is having a rough time with it all and can’t have visitors at this time. I just want her to know we love her very much and wish them well soon!

Lastly, I can’t believe I missed B’s birthday! We have been so busy with redoing the house, school, playgroup and recovering from vacation. But that is NO excuse for missing such an important day! I hope it was a great one! We love you very much B and hope Sept 10 was a great birthday!

House finally done!

Posted: September 12, 2008 in Uncategorized

After two and a half months the transformation on our house is finally DONE! Thanks to a wonderful interior decorator, J, I have the most beauiful house! J worked really hard and had so many great ideas! I have referred J to several of my friends, so hopefully she will remain very busy. But I must admit I am truly going to miss her. We have been together ever week for months now. I am not worried though because I think we have started a great friendship through all of this so I look forward to seeing her in more of a social setting instead of a business situation. Great job Ms. J!

Here are just a FEW of the rooms we did. J painted all the rooms in the house. I just can’t show them all on this blog. If you want to see them all, then you know where to find me 🙂
