July 2, 2014: Z and I went to the Point Defiance Zoo with L and her kids. It was a gorgeous day outside and absolutely perfect for a new zoo exploration. We got to pet stingray, ride camels, hand feed birds, watch a cute animal show, and see lots of cool animals. Z even took a bunch of pictures. He is the one that took the cool tiger and squirrel picture. What a great day with friends!

Hike and Mariners

Posted: January 30, 2016 in Cub Scouts, Friends, Weekend Activities

June 14, 2014: Hubby and Z went on a day hike with C and his Dad. They had such a great time checking out stuff. Later that evening we went to the Mariners vs. Texas Rangers baseball game with our Cub Scout pack. Of course Z wore his Texas Rangers hat to irritate everyone :-).

May 2, 2014: Since the talent show performance from last year was a huge success for the boys, Z and L decided to do it again this year! Only this time they sang and danced a little to Magic from the movie Pitch Perfect. They did such a great job! Click here for the video2014-05-02 17.58.132014-05-02 17.58.552014-05-02 17.59.042014-05-02 17.59.402014-05-02 19.35.302014-05-02 19.36.232014-05-02 19.36.442014-05-02 22.11.46-1

4th Grade Recorder Concert

Posted: January 30, 2016 in Friends, School

April 2, 2014: Z had his recorder concert at school. Z did such a great job! So proud of him for learning music. Next year they learn guitars in 5th grade.

Gotta love L photo bomb 🙂

February 1, 2014: We went to a huge Lego event at City Hall. They had tons of Legos set up for kids to look at and play with. Now this was pure torture for me but pure heaven for Z and hubby. They could build Legos for hours. Me, not so much! I played along for a little bit but I have no Lego building talent so I just enjoyed watching them build stuff. We even ran into some friends there. The newspaper was there covering the event but they didn’t do any pieces that focused on Z and hubby. When the newspaper came out, hubby was in one of the pictures but he had his body turned so not very noticeable. But, hey – we will take it 🙂

Buddy Time

January 1 to January 4, 2014: Happy New Year! What a great way to start off the year – Z getting to spend time with his best friend! Those boys always have such a great time together and never ever argue. We didn’t get many pictures during this trip but just know they had a blast. Up early each day and to bed late because that is how we roll on school break :-).

So let me explain the last picture here. The boys were shooting bb guns and had fun doing so. But they thought it would be way more fun to shoot at a more fun target. So during some after Christmas shopping they found some Justin Bieber wrapping paper and thought that would be the most awesome target. Well, I have to say… was. They had a blast! Hahaha

December 21, 2013: Ok, so at one of Z’s cub scout den meetings the snack was peanut butter balls. Since I am really watching my weight I chose not to eat any until after my weigh in date. Since I weighed in on 12/20 I decided to make the peanut butter balls. Let me tell you….they were delicious and simple to make. Turns out we had some extra chocolate so we popped some popcorn and sprinkled the chocolate on top. Z helped me make everything and we even packed some up and to give to friends. Oh, and I think I ate my weight in peanut butter balls. It is easy to do! 🙂

Later that evening we all went to our friend, A’s, house for a Christmas party. Karakoe was involved…that is all I am sayin’. Fun night!

October 26, 2013: This halloween Z picked out a pretty gross costume. He was a zombie doctor. When we wore the mask it was pretty creepy looking. Very cool choice though. We went to a halloween party and Z got to wear his costume. Hubby and I aren’t really costume people so we wore matching skeleton t-shirts. That is the extent of my costume efforts. 🙂

October 31, 2013:  Z did get to go trick or treating for a little bit but he mainly wanted to stay home and to hand out candy and scare neighbor kids with our jumping spider on the porch. Hubby rigged the stomp pad to the jumping spider in the house so we got to chose when the spider jumped at kids – we looked out the window so approaching kids couldn’t see us. We got a lot of screams – which made Z’s night! We also go a ton of compliments on the carved spider pumpkin. At the end of the evening, Z’s friends stopped by and we got a picture of the three of them together. Great picture!

Best Buds

Posted: March 8, 2014 in Friends, Summer Time

August 12 – August 18, 2013: Z’s bestest friend in the whole wide world got to come stay with us for a few days. These boys always have such a great time together and never ever fight. Yes, sometimes they disagree but they talk it out and never yell at each other. I know – it’s amazing huh!

We get C as often as we can get him since we live so close – he lives in Portland so it isn’t too far. We always come up with a ton of fun things for the boys to do but for this visit we mainly stayed home. They didn’t mind though. They got super creative this time and made forts. I remember doing this when I was a kid so it was fun to see that kids still do that thing. They tried to sleep in their fort the first night but it was too hot so we brought out the air mattress. They also had fun playing hockey, football, video games, roasting marshmallows, and they even made pop guns. Of course brownies were involved – that is a request C always has when he comes to visit.

When it was time for C to go home, Z and I drove him home and stayed at T’s house for a couple days. The gang was together again.

August 4, 2013: We met T and her kids at Chuck E Cheese for some fun before picking up C and T to come back to our house to spend the night. Of course the kids had fun playing games but they had even more fun when they got to the house and played street hockey outside.
