3rd grade field trip to salmon hatchery

Posted: January 13, 2013 in School

October 12, 2012: I chaperoned Z’s field trip to the local salmon hatchery. Although it was chili and drizzling outside the scenery here is just beautiful! We were right in the heart of Issaquah but being at the hatchery felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. It was just before this field trip an elementary school just down the road had a bunch of baby bears running around the school. We are right in the middle of nature and it is breath taking! After listening to the story of the salmon it makes me sad that they basically live to die. I guess we all do; however their path seems quite difficult. They don’t ever seem to catch a break. Gotta love the salmon!
