October 30, 2011 – We enjoyed a nice breakfast at IHOP and then ran errands; Z haircut, Old Navy, Children’s Place, Stride Rite, ect… Then we came home and Z and his Dad worked on the final pumpkin. Z decided to also carve a potato and make it look like the pumpkin was eating the potato. They did a great job together and our Halloween pumpkins turned out awesome this year! Great job guys!

While Z and his Dad were doing the pumpkins, I made goodie bags for all the kids in Z’s classroom. We also got booed three times that night! It was so much fun rushing to the door to see if we could catch the booers. Well, our bell actually rang twice. We got home from running errands and busted one of our booers red-handed! HOW FUN! So thank you so much to our wonderful friends for all the treats and fun!

Check out the Boo goodies!

The Sith Lord, Z, made this at the birthday party.

October 29, 2011 – Z and I ran a few errands, one being picking out pumpkins, and then came home to carve pumpkins. We had fun watching him clean out the pumpkin! YUCKY! Z had so much fun and did such a good job carving his!

Later in the afternoon, we went to a birthday party for one of Z’s friends. It was a Halloween costume birthday party. Z was so excited to wear his Sith Lord costume. We even painted his face. The party was a huge success and the kids has the absolute BEST TIME! The Kona Ice truck even came and gave all the kids, and adults, snowcones. So much fun!

Deer out there!

Posted: October 31, 2011 in Around the House

Ok, we live on a greenbelt and always have deer out back. We feed them our stale bread and tortillas so they always come around to see what we left for them. We get to enjoy them everyday but never think to take pictures. So we finally decided to take pictures this time. The deer come around so often they are getting used to Echo and Shadow barking at them. They are so cool to watch!

October 27, 2011 – The entire 2nd grade made individual pumpkin pies. Each class had a couple parents help the kids make their pies. W and I helped the kids in our class. We had everything in an assembly line and the kids had a great time making their pies. The cafeteria staff cooked all the pies and the kids got to eat them after lunch. Z said he loved the pie!

After school I took Z to Toys R Us to buy a birthday gift for JT. While we were there Z found this enormous Nerf gun he couldn’t live without. He spent $50 of his own money on it and I bought him the vest to hold all the ammo. He is really into the Nerf guns so this is a nice addition to his collection.

Later in the evening, after dinner, we went and Booed our friends. This was the first year that Z actually did the running and putting the goodie bag on the porch and rang the bell all on his own. He has an absolute BLAST!!!! What a perfect day!

October 22, 2011 – Our school does a carnival every year for a big PTA fundraiser. This was my first year not to volunteer to help out so we actually got to enjoy the day without any stress. We had a garage sale early in the morning but finished up before noon because Z wanted to be at the carnival ready to dunk Coach C in the dunking booth. So that is the first place we went when we got to the carnival. Z actually dunked the Coach so he was thirlled! We got to play a bunch of games and got to hang out with Z’s friend J for a little while. Z was so excited to finally hit the bell on the Striker game. He had so much fun bouncing around from game to game! It was  perfect family day that was stress free!

We ended the day going to dinner with the G family. We went to Chuy’s and had the best time! We just love the G family!!!! Thank you for the invitation!

October 11, 2011 – E came home with Z after school and they had the best time playing!

Silly boys!

October 10, 2011 –  Z was out of school this day so we decided to go to the Exotic Zoo with our friends, the G family. We packed our lunch and hit the road early in the morning so we could get to the zoo before the animals had too much to eat. When we go to the zoo, it was crowded! So we had to wait a little bit until our tour began. The G family had never been there so it was so much fun showing them around. We played with the goats before the tour. Once the tour began we fed all sorts of animals. We have been there so many times but we just have the best time there and I love to go! I especially love listening to Z as he feeds the animals and laughs. After the tour we ate lunch there and let the kids play some more. Perfect day off school with friends!

October 7, 2011 – The entire 2nd grade class went on their field trip to the Austin Nature Center downtown. Each class wore different colored tie-dyed shirts so it would be easy to identify each class. Our class was bright orange. Each kid in our class designed their own shirt and Z designed mine as well. I think they turned out awesome! Before the kids headed out for the field trip, they had the morning announcements done in their classroom by the school principal. The kids really enjoy doing morning announcements. Then they had to take their regular Friday spelling test.

The field trip was so much fun and the weather was perfect! They got to see a lot of different things as well as play on the playscape at Zilker Park. It was a perfect day and Z was so excited that his Daddy was able to attend the field trip too.

Posted: October 31, 2011 in Cub Scouts

October 6, 2011 – We attended our cub scout pack meeting as usual but this time we were thrilled to present the Red Cross with the check for all the money the boys raised to help the fire victims. They raised $3126.50!! All the boys we participated took a picture with the Red Cross representative. Towards the end of the meeting, each scout made cards for our troops for Vetran’s Day. Good job guys!
