When Z and his friend, A, get together they come up with a ‘show’ for the parents to watch. This included playing musical instruments, singing and dancing. They named their act “Blue House Rock.” Z has become obsessed with this group that he made tickets to hand out to the people in the audience. He even made goodie bags for the audience members. It is just so precious to watch them use their imagination and creativity.

Well on April 18, 2009 my friend, D, said she would watch Z for us if we wanted to go to dinner and a movie for my birthday. When we told Z the plan, he immediatley got all his stuff together for the show. He packed his instruments, the ticket window he made to distribute the tickets to the audience, the tickets and a snack for the road. Ms D came and picked him up and took him and A to do some crafts at a local learning store. Then they were off to her house to perfect the show. Hubby and I and Ms D and Mr J were the audience. It was priceless to watch them perform. Pictures were taken with my IPhone.

Tshirts for school

Posted: April 21, 2009 in School

I offered to make some really cute shirts for Z’s class for graduation from pre-K. I made 15 total and they were very time consuming. I think they turned out very well! And NO it is NOT and iron on transfer 🙂

A lot of work but well worth it I think!

Mom’s birthday

April 17, 2009 was my (Z’s mom) 41st birthday. I had a wonderful day! Z made me this beautiful arrangement using eggs from Easter and pipe cleaners. It is flowers in a flower pot. And he also made me a beautiful card! Hubby helped him with some of the craft. I have it displayed in my craft room and the card will make the scrapbook. Thank you sweetheart! Hubby got me an IPhone, a couple cases, and some speakers for it. I just LOVE it! Thank you so much honey! My mother in law, C, treated me to a deluxe pedicure which was HEAVEN! Then hubby and Z took me to Chuy’s for dinner. We had a wonderful meal! I can’t imagine spending my bday any other way!

And my dear friend, D, treated me to lunch the day before and got me a nice plaque and notebook. D also watched Z on the 18th for us so hubby and I could go to dinner and a movie. We went to see Vin Diesel in the Fast and the Furious. WOW is all I have to say! My other dear friend, M, brought over a nice travel bag filled with goodies. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends!

Let me start this post with an explanation first. Z’s friend A had a lemonade stand this past summer and we were customers. We also saw a few kids in the neighborhood also having lemonade stands. And Max and Ruby (the show on Noggin) had a lemonade stand. On April 14, 2009, Z had all he could stand, and asked me yet again if we could have a lemonade stand. After saying no for months, I decided to say YES. He was not only shocked but thrilled. So we got all the stuff together in a flash and were set up within 30 minutes. I sent emails to some friends and hubby called his mom and sister to be customers. We had a great time and had some wonderful patrons! Thank you my friends! Z made a whole $8 so he was on cloud 9!

April 12, 2009 was Easter Sunday. We got up early to find a huge Easter Basket left behind and tons of eggs hidden inside and outside. Man that bunny does a great job! After the hunt, we got all cleaned up and did a few chores before our company arrived. We had hubbies mom, brother and his kids, and sister over for dinner out on the patio and some fun. I bought a craft for the kids to put together and Aunt K and Grandma C bought all the kids Easter Baskets. After dinner, the kids got to go on an egg hunt in the front yard just before dark. It was a nice day getting to see everyone. We even got to see Grandma C’s dogs. Z and his cousins had a BLAST with those dogs!

April 11, 2009 hubby spent the day in bed with strep throat and a bad ear infection. But he found the energy to sit with Z while we colored eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide. This is so much fun for Z and I love to see all his creations. I helped some this year but the dye I used stained my fingers. Oh well…..live and learn.

April 11, 2009 our playgroup had a trip to Marble Falls, TX planned. We were going to pick strawberries at Sweetberry Farms. We did this last year and I suppose we will do it every year as the kids have a blast! This time hubby was able to attend with Z and I. We met a lot of our friends at the farm and began to pick strawberries. It was so fun to watch the kids pick them. They were running all over the place finding the perfect strawberry. I think Z found tons of perfect ones as he picked almost 6 pounds himself.

After we picked strawberries, we decided it was time for our picnic lunch. Why is it that sandwiches taste so wonderful when you eat them at a picnic with friends? The kids ate fast because they wanted to go feed the goats. I mean a goat has to eat too ya know 🙂 Once the goats were fed (and the kids ran out of the food we purchased to feed the goats) we got in line to ride the horses. Then we went to pet some more farm animals before getting the traditional strawberry ice cream.

It was a lovely day! The weather was not hot and the clouds kept the sun from scorching us. I did however get a little burnt. It was so wonderful getting to share this experience with my hubby this year!

On April 9, 2009 we had a HUGE playgroup egg hunt! I asked each mom to bring me 2 dozen plastic eggs filled with goodies. My good friend M hosted the event at the field across from her house. She opened her garage to us for the 2 crafts I provided. I also brought all the snacks and drinks. M, R, D, hubby, and I hid all the eggs in the field before all the kids arrived. There were over 400 eggs total. The kids were in shock when they arrived. We made them do a few crafts while waiting for everyone to arrive. Once everyone was there, we let the littler kiddos get a head start. Then everyone else took off. The had a blast! Then after everyone checked out the eggs for their goodies, I got the kids together to play duck duck goose. It was a perfect day!!!

On April 8, 2009 Z wanted to make a kite so hubby got out all the stuff to make a big kit. They made a turkey vulture kite and it did a great job flying. Z is always coming up with fun craft ideas. Photos taken with my IPhone.
