Inner Space Caverns with playgroup

Posted: February 2, 2009 in Playgroup, Playgroup Activities, Weekend Activities

On January 25, 2009 a group of us from playgroup went to the Inner Space Caverns to explore around. Let me back up a bit and explain why we went there – our playgroup concentrates on a letter of the alphabet each month and January was letter “I” month. What better thing to do than to explore the caves at Inner Space:? Anyway, we took a friend from playgroup with us as her parents had some family matters to attend to. Ms. K had a blast and she was such a delight to bring along. We met the N family and the S family there as well. So the kids, Z, K, A and S couldn’t wait to explore. The tour lasted about an hour and a half underground and the kids were so fascinated with the fact they were underground! It was a very neat experience as this was my first time to do something like this. I can see us going back again….but this time I will have my hair up and shorts on! It had 98% humidity down there…EWWW!!

After the tour, the whole group went to a late lunch early dinner. The kids behaved wonderfully especially for being together for so long. It was also nice to get a chance to have adult conversations as the kids were entertaining themselves at the other end of the long table. It was a great day with friends!

We took a quick pose while we were waitning for C and S to show up.
