Thanksgiving Day

Posted: November 29, 2008 in Holidays

It is that time of year again. We got to celebrate Thanksgiving with my hubby’s father and step-mom at their house at the lake. My hubby’s mother was not able to come with us but she was so nice to watch our little dog for us. Thanks C!

We drove up to the lake Thursday morning and had a wonderful meal. I told Z I would give him $5 if he tried everything I put on his plate for dinner so of course he did without a fight. (I also explained this was only a Thanksgiving deal because I didn’t want him to ask for money each time he tries something new.) After dinner, we took the golf cart on a one and a half mile adventure. Pappa R called it the Indiana Jones trip. It was absolutely beautiful there and we had a wonderful time. We even stopped for some photo opportunities. Next we went next door to spend time with M and N and their family. Z got to play the board game “sorry” and really had fun. Then back to Pappa R’s house for some fabulous pie and snacks. Emma went to bed and the rest of us played with beads and made bracelets and necklaces. Then Pappa R read a nice bedtime story to Z. What a nice day!

The next morning we had breakfast and Z and his grandpa did a frame craft together. Although it drove his grandpa NUTS, they did a great job together. Next he made beaded necklaces with his Emma and did some coloring pages. Then Z read Emma a new book and he did such a great job. After lunch it was time for us to head home. We stopped at Target so Z could pick out a toy because the $5 he earned was burning a hole in his pocket. Then we went to dinner.

Looks like Z is having more fun acting silly than making a frame.

They are really working together now. But not for long since Z is being silly.
