Finally! Cucumbers!

Posted: November 17, 2008 in General Information, Weekend Activities

Z and his Daddy started a garden on June 18, 2008. They planted Cucumbers, Sunflowers, Carrots, Radishes, Green Beans, Pumpkins and Corn. We did get some tall sunflowers this summer, 1 green bean, 1 ear of corn, 2 cucumbers and hopefully soon to be carrots. The other things are dying off slowly, but we still get flowers from the pumpkins. Z and Daddy picked the cucumbers the other day and we finally took a picture of them this evening. Z was anxious to try his garden grown veggy. We explained to him that it may not taste good since “we” grew it (we aren’t farmers you know). And if he didn’t like the ones we grew to still try the ones from the store. Turns out there was no need for that speech because he LOVED them! He is not crazy about the seeds but that is no problem since I buy the English Cucumbers (AKA seedless).
