Trip to the pumpkin patch

On Saturday, October 17, 2009, some of our playgroup went to the pumpkin patch in Marble Falls. We went there last year and had such a great time, we couldn’t wait to go back. So with our husbands and lunches loaded in the cars, we headed out to the farm. We went with D, T and C’s families. It was such a beautiful day and the farm was busy but not unbearable. The kids immediately started jumping on all the hay bales for many photo opportunities. There was so much to see and do it was hard to decide what would be first. They played for a while on the hay bales, played in pumpkin filled boat and truck, picked out pumpkins, ate our lunch, fed the goats, went on a hayride, picked fresh flowers, ran through the corn maze, painted pumpkins, and stuffed a scarecrow. We even ran into K and her family there. And of course in between all that we took many pictures!

The day was not over yet….we stopped at Dairy Queen for a quick ice cream cone and the stop turned into over an hour because the kids played and I chatted with D and K for a bit. Then for dinner we went to this wonderful seafood place with D and her family. We got home after dark! What a long fun day. And hubby and Z were sunburned from the day at the farm. Sorry for not putting sunscreen on you both.

Bunco witches

I go to a bunco group the second Tuesday of each month. This month the theme was “Wicked” and we all wore witch hats and a couple ladies came in full costume. It was such a blast! I even won first prize $30!! Z just loves bunco night because that means he gets to play with daddy, but this month hubby was out of town. So Z went to M’s house to play and stay over there. It was a fun night!

Crafts and Bats

Friday, October 9, 2009 was a fun Halloweeny day for us! After school we went to a M’s house for a playgroup craft. We called it a witch craft. Apparently it was a melting witch made out of pudding cups. The kids just loved it and it was so cute! M had so many yummy snacks for the kids and moms. The kids all played very well together and it was a super playdate! Thanks M!

After playgroup, we picked up hubby and went to a Kindergarten field trip to watch the bats fly out from under the bridge at dusk. We got there a little after 6pm. Tons of kinder kids came and Z had a blast running around. There were even a few teachers there and the kids thought that was awesome! Well, after playing until dark (almost, we realized the bats weren’t going to fly so we called it a night. But not before heading to McDonald’s for a yummy/fast dinner.

Happy Birthday to G and M

Saturday, October 3 2009, was a dual birthday party for our friends kids, M and G. The party was held at our community center and was to celebrate M’s 1st birthday and G’s 9th birthday. They were both born on the same day but obviously years apart. My friend, M, did a great job with the whole party. She had a fabulous face painter there, a bouncy house, tons of crafts, and great snacks. The kids played for HOURS! Then after the party we went to dinner with a couple of families of friends. It was such a great day. Thanks for including us M!

Fun at Zilker Park with Friends

Saturday, August 29, Z and I got up really early and went downtown to Zilker Park with my friend M and her kids, G, P and M.  We got there at the perfect time. We got a front row parking spot. The park was not crowded and the weather was very pleasant. We bought tickets to ride the train but it was going to be about an hour before it left. So the kids played on the play structure until it was time to ride the train. They had a blast! Z and P play so well together! And I just adore G and love to give her a hard time. It is all in fun girlfriend! Anyway it was train time so we all loaded up and off we went. Not to far into the ride the train jumped the track and we all had to get off. Needless to say, it was broken so we had to entertain ourselves some other way. So M had the idea to go to the Springs. We let the kids get in the water up to their knees. It was slippery but fun.

After the park, we all headed to the Cheesecake Factory and filled our bellies bigtime! Then off to Lakeshore Learning for the free Saturday craft.

It was such a great day with friends! Thanks for the invitation M!

Kinder Camp!

August 12, 2009, was Kinder Camp for the kids at Z’s new Elementary School. He got to spend time at the school with the teachers and other kids to get comfortable with the whole school idea. While the kids were with the teachers, the parents were in the cafeteria meeting with the principle. Afterwards, we all went on a school bus ride. It was so cute to see the little kids get on the bus. I even led the people on the bus with a lovely little song….The Wheels on the Bus…. I know, I am a dork. But the kids all loved it!

Z attended his old preschool for VBS the week of July 27 and the theme was Croc Dock. He had a blast! He went with his friends, B, A, P and G. Each day Z would come home all excited about what all they did and he just loves to sing all the songs they learned. We even bought the CD. Z can’t wait to go back to VBS next year.

Taking Daddy to the Exotic Zoo

Z and I had been to the Exotic Zoo earlier this year and we just couldn’t wait to take Daddy there. So we decided to go on July 26, 2009. I invited our friends M and her girls. Even her older daughter, B, came with us. We all packed a lunch and made a day of it. The drive was just a little over an hour and the route was just beautiful. Daddy was so surprised that the tour was so great. I didn’t think he expected to see so many different animals. He was amazed to see Camels there in Texas. As usual, we got to hand feed all the animals there. It is such a fun thing to do and is relatively cheap to go. I had a wonderful time watching Z and his Daddy feed the animals and I got to spend time with my dear friend M and her girls. What could be better? Well, having lunch in the petting zoo area and then spending time petting more animals.

After the trip home, we ended up at the Disney Store for some clearance shopping then onto Steak and Shake for dinner. Mr. R joined us there and it was such a great day. We left the restaurant full, tired, and dirty from all our fun. That right there shows it was a fabulous day. Thanks for joining us M!
