After school today D and I were planning on taking the kids to get bluebonnet pictures. But I was sure surprised to see my son with face paint on his face when I picked him up from school. He was so proud of his clown face and had such a great time at circus day at school. I decided right then and there, face paint or not, we were getting bluebonnet pictures today! Except ours would be done with a circus clown. So I rushed home to get hubby and we met D and A at the field. The bluebonnets were beautiful as always! So this was our first encounter with them this year. I plan on doing some more pictures when my son doesn’t have paint on his face

Circus day at school

Today they are having circus day at Z’s school. They plan on having circus games, crafts, and activities for the kids. They also asked the kids to dress silly and wear goofy hats. We had just the thing. Z wore a tuxedo t-shirt, jean shorts, one long sock, one short sock, black dress shoes, and a huge hat. He was so excited to get to school in his fun outfit. Of course I couldn’t wait to take some pictures before school.

Easter Bunny at the Mall

Yesterday, March 23 2009, D and I took Z and A to see the Easter Bunny at the mall. It was the first day he was there. As usual we were the only ones there (we always pick the perfect times to go) and the kids had a blast playing on the set. The bunny was very nice and let them play and have fun. They had accessories for the kids to use in the photos so we had to try a few out. The ‘professional’ picture we got did not include any accessories though. Thank you Easter Bunny for making the kids’ day!

Great time fishing

Today, March 19 2009, was another busy day for us. I got up early to take my car to the dealership to get some work done. Hubby and Z came to get me about an hour and a half later (I let them sleep in and wake up naturally since it was my idea to go so early) and of course by the time they got there to get me, the dealership was done. FIGURES! Then we decided to go get a couple estimates to repair the dent/gouge B put in the hood of my van.

After the car stuff was handled, I took Z to Chuck E Cheese to play with his friend G and to give me some time to catch up with my friend B. We have a nice lunch and the kids played for a couple hours. Then we walked to Jo Ann’s Fabrics to get some scrapbook stuff.

After Z and I got home, his daddy had a surprise in store for him. While we were out at Chuck E Cheese he was out getting a fishing license and another fishing pole. He had everything ready to go fishing. I went with them as the photographer since I didn’t have a license to fish. We were there a while then I decided instead of leaving I would go get take out food to picnic there at the lake. It was a very lazy and nice evening at the lake. We left at dark. We didn’t catch any fish today but hubby and Z are planning a return trip there very soon!

St. Patrick’s Day with friends

March 17, 2009 was St. Patrick’s Day! We all wore green so we wouldn’t get pinched. We had a wonderful day with our friends the P’s! We went to the bowling alley and after about 15 minutes of trying to figure out how many lanes and stuff we were going to use we were ready to play The kids got a lane to themselves and got to use the bumpers and the ball ramp. The adults played right next to them and we didn’t use bumpers The kids had so much fun I just had to take tons of pictures! So much that hubby kept getting onto me because I was being distracting to the other bowlers. Seriously, doesn’t he know I am planning a scrapbook page? HELLO! I already have the shamrock paper….. Back to the day with friends…

After bowling we went to lunch at Chuy’s. Now what I am about to tell you will come to you as a shock, but it was the P’s first time ever to go to Chuy’s and they have lived here for over 2 years AND they are from El Paso. Well much to their surprise the LOVED IT! And of course we did since it is my hubby’s favorite place.

After stuffing our faces with yummy food (tons of food that is) we headed to the park near the house. The kids got covered with sunscreen first and headed to the playscape. They had a blast. We had to tear them away.

When we got home, I was so tired from the big lunch and heat, I took a nap for a few hours. Hubby and Z played outside even more. Needless to say, that little red head ate 3 hot dogs, an apple, chips and 2 yogurt drinks. What a day!

On Monday, March 16, 2009 we watched my friend M’s kids while she took her 5 month old to the doctor. He had been in the hospital for about 3 weeks and needed a followup with the doctors and she didn’t want her other kids there. Z had so much fun with P and G! I painted G’s nails and mine also while Z and P played. Then I brought out some beads and they all made necklaces. It was such a nice morning and when M came to pick up G and P she offered to take Z and I to lunch. We went to Cheddars and it was so yummy! Thanks so much M!

Fun with Houston Friends!

Our friends J and J and their kiddos came to visit us from Houston on Friday March 13 and left on Sunday March 15. L is about 2 and a half years old and C is only 8 months old. This was our first time to meet baby C and she is such a sweetheart! What an adorable smile that baby has! And Z had played with L in the past but it was so much more fun this time since L is older. Those boys hit it off and played and played and played! They got along so well and Z was such a gentleman with L and baby C! We were so proud of him for sharing everything with L and not fussing at all! The kids got to play for hours and hours, paint pictures, play with moon sand, go do crafts at the learning store, and go on an adventure in the woods. We went to dinner one night and cooked at home one night. And J and I even got to go do a couple things just us girls. Of course I wish we could have had more time with our friends! I know Z can’t wait to see L again! And a bonus is that our hubby’s get along very well also and I know B would love to hang out with J more too! I have already asked for a ‘do over’! Especially since the weather was cold and rainy while they were here.

Art class and Playgroup

We always have art class on Thursdays at 2pm them playgroup at 4pm. We usually noodle around after art class and head straight to playgroup. So needless to say by the time we get home from playgroup Z is starving and crabby!

On Thursday March 12, 2009 we went to art class and Z drew an awesome police car! After art class we headed to Target to kill some time and then over to my friend M’s house for some St. Patrick’s Day fun. She had green food for snacking and a fun little necklace craft for the kids. Of course the kids played and ran around like they always do. By the time we left Z was so hungry and tired. We decided to go to dinner close to home and FAST. We headed to this Mexican Restaurant near the house and ran into hubby’s mom there. So we invaded her table and had dinner with her. Thanks C!

The robots bite the dust….

March 11, 2009. Well the time had come to finally dispose of the birthday party robots that Z was saving as playroom decoration. I was so worried he would give us trouble over getting rid of them. Of course he didn’t want to get rid of them but after we convinced him to he just wondered what the trash men would think of robots at the curb. So I planned to dispose of them after I took him to school but to my surprise the trash had come way early on that day. DARN….now what? I decided to get on the phone and call friends in the neighborhood to find someone who still had their trash at the curb. Enter Ms. L into the picture. She was so sweet to let us dump the bodies at her curb. YEAH…..they are all gone now!!!!

Busy Saturday 3-7-09

I know I know….I am behind on my posts. Here is my attempt to get caught up.

Saturday March 7 was a super busy day for us all. It started off with Z and I going to a birthday party for his friend S. It was a great time and Z had a blast! After the party was over, hubby took Z to Lakeshore Learning for their free Saturday craft. Together they made a neat collage of different forms of transportation. It is a very neat picture and I have it hanging in my craft room. As soon as they got home from the learning store, we went to dinner with our friends the P’s and went to Cheddars. The kids had a blast and then Z convinced us to go rock climbing after dinner. So we all went and all of us climbed except for little C since she is too small. It was a super fun time with our friends!
