School Christmas Performance

Dec 15 was Z’s Christmas performance at school. He had been really practicing his songs and couldn’t wait until the big day. Mom and Dad and Grandma C and Ms. D came to watch along the big show. The kids were all dressed in ‘bibs’ during the performance. They had such a good time. Of course the song everyone really put a lot of UMPH into was Jingle Bells. After the show, we all ate cake and got to visit and watch Z play with B.

Trail of Lights 2008

There is a park downtown that does a trail of lights each year. The crowds come from near and far to walk through the park to see the beautiful lights and structures. We went on Dec 14 with D and J and A, but first stopped for a nice fish dinner. Z is now eating shrimp and catfish so YEAH. Anyway, back to the lights. After sitting in crazy traffic for an hour we finally arrived at the park. The kids were excited to see the lights, but Z’s legs started to hurt and needed to be carried. Still trying to decide if they really hurt or if he pulled a fast one over on us….. So with a wonderful view sitting on Daddy’s shoulders, we set off into the mass of people. We walked at a slow pace bumping into people left and right. But it really wasn’t that bad. The lights were beautiful and the kids really enjoyed them. And the weather was a perfect 74ish degrees outside.

After the lights we had to make a potty stop at McDonald’s and of course had to get snacks. We finally got home around 10:45pm and Z got to bed around 11:00. It was a late night for us since it was a school night, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Z said we picked the perfect night to go to the trial so it was all worth it. Thanks D for inviting us!!!

Before you view the pictures, keep in mind that night pictures don’t do the landscaping justice. It was absolutely beautiful!
