Building a Gingerbread House at Lowe’s

Today, Dec 13, Daddy took Z to Lowe’s for a “Build and Grow” workshop to make a gingerbread house. They had such a fun time. They even got to sit next to one of our friends R and his girls, C and C. The project took about an hour to complete and the kids were so proud of their work when it was complete. They even posed for a picture before going home. The gingerbread house is the cutest thing and I will treasure it forever!

Pajama Day at School

On Dec 12, the kids got to wear their pajamas to school since they were going to watch the Polar Express movie. Before the kids left school on Wednesday, they gave each kid a ticket to to bring back with them on Friday to get punched before entering the classroom. The only problem with that is I forgot to bring the ticket back to school with us yesterday. Luckily Daddy was home and rushed it to us. In the meantime, I was able to get some cute pictures of Z playing by the tree at school. (The kids run around that tree everyday after school and they love it.)

After school we came home and chilled out some before going to our friend M’s house to play. Of course I let Z wear his pajamas over there since it was in fact pajama day. Daddy did not like that idea but figured it was M’s house so no big deal. Well to his surprise we went to dinner and of course Z got to wear his pajamas there too. I did not care but Daddy was not happy. You know come to think of it, we did get some strange looks, but I just didn’t care. I knew we were out in pajamas because it was pajama day and not because I was being lazy or that Z was sick. It was good clean fun.

So after dinner we stopped at the big tree of lights by our post office. They had the tree so pretty. Too bad my pictures did not turn out since it was so dark. But I did get some really good pictures of Z in the sleigh they had there. It was fun to run around, still in pajamas, and enjoy the cool night air.

Special surprise from Mom

Using Snapfish’s website I put a very special book of pictures together of Z and some of his friends. I was thrilled yesterday to finally get it in the mail. We gave the book to Z last night at bedtime. He was so surprised, he had no idea I did it for him. He read all the words I included in the book – with no help except for some last names. Pretty impressive I might add. I just had to share a couple pictures with you.

Art Class

I signed Z up to take an art class every week and he works one on one with the instructor to make some amazing pictures. He has drawn an octopus, a dolphin, a zebra and now a starfish. This week we did something a little different, he drew the picture and then got to use watercolors to paint it. That is something we will continue doing as he just loved the painting part. I just had to share this picture with you since I think it is a masterpiece! We will be framing this one and hanging it in Z’s room. He drew the whole thing and painted it all himself.

Day with Daddy

On Dec 9, Mommy was in bed most the day sick. So Daddy and Z got to spend a lot of time together. They had a blast in the morning making these “Google Heads” that Z saw on Jack’s Big Music Show. The ones these guys made were way better than on Jack’s show, because my boys made them of course! Daddy hates the picture, but I just had to share. Sorry honey! They also made a “fox nose” which was a creation Z had all on his own. Then mom pulled some paints out for Z to work on some art. He made some great pictures, as usual, but one in particular was of Santa and this time he gave him a body instead of a stick figure body. And I must say he was so proud of himself for that and for the fact he actually got to use a Sharpie Marker. :-) Then later in the evening, they went to Gattiland. Did I mention they were there 3 hours???? They had a blast since it was half price game night. The day was perfect for this little 4 year old! And for the 41 year old I must add :-)
