Christmas stockings and trees

Today, Dec 8, at playgroup we made cute stocking and trees. The stockings were made of construction paper and the kids got to glue cotton balls on for the top of the stocking. Then they browsed the sale ads for toys and things they wanted for Christmas and they cut them out and glued them to the stocking. Now keep in mind, we have already written Santa a letter and told the many Santas what we wanted this year. So this craft just added to my stress. :-) After the stockings were complete they were each given a sugar cone to ice with icing and decorate with mini M&Ms and Twizzlers. Ok so Z did not put any Twizzlers on his tree, he just ate them as fast as he could. That is by the way that kid’s FAVORITE candy! And K was so gracious to give Z the unused Twizzlers to take home. That kid was in HEAVEN!  Then after the crafts were complete the kids went outside to play. They even all got a turn to wear C’s Batman costume. What a huge hit! We had such a great time at K and C’s house today. Thanks K!

Christmas book tradition is underway – Post #2

So it is now time to share more pictures with you on how our new tradition is going. Z absolutely loves it and it is a great way to add more reading into our evening routine. Like that needed to happen….. Z is already reading very well and absolutely LOVES to read books! ALL BOOKS! Did I mention he loves books?

Very cool Walle and Eve ornament. It has nothing to do with our book tradition, but I just had to share.

Calling all reindeer at Z’s school

The kids will be doing a Christmas Show next week and they are going to wear cute reindeer shirts for the performance. I was asked to help out in making the shirts. Of course I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. And the bonus part is hubby is not working so he was also able to help. So between the 2 of us, we made 15 shirts for the kids in Z’s class. They turned out super cute so I thought I would share.
