Hubby job update

As many of you know, my hubby decided it was time to leave his job at Dell after 2 years of misery. They offered voluntary separation packages and hubby couldn’t wait to accept the offer. So he is now home with me everyday and finally free of stress and is finally able to do some things for himself. It was a scary decision, since he left without having another job, but something that needed to be done. Our family was suffering from all the hours and traveling Dell demanded from him. So now Z and I look forward to everyday with him and wish him all the luck in finding whatever job will make him happy. We love you so much and are very proud of you for taking this huge step!

Christmas crafts for playgroup

Today, Dec 4, Z and I hosted playgroup at our house. We had 12 moms there with their kids and had a BLAST! I had the kids make reindeer food and an adorable snowman. And Ms. D brought over an advent calendar for the kids made from a Santa face. These kids loves the crafts! Then of course afterwards, they couldn’t wait to go upstairs and play. Some of the kids stayed downstairs playing air hockey. All in all it was a fun time!

Baking cupcakes

On Monday, Dec 1, after Z got home from school we baked cupcakes. We made funfetti cupcakes with white icing and red and green sprinkles. He was thrilled to do this! We delivered a few to some good friends, D and M, and Grandma C. It is funny because Z loves the idea of baking but doesn’t stick with it for long. So I am the one who gets to ice them and stuff. Which I guess is good when we are sharing with friends. :-)

Christmas book tradition is underway

As I stated in an earlier post, hubby and I have started a new tradition in our home where Z gets to open a book every night. It is another way of counting down the days until Christmas and allows him to open a present each day plus getting to read a fun Christmas story each night. We wrapped 25 books of which most were books we already had with a few new ones this year. Anyway, Z absolutely LOVES this idea and can’t wait to open and read his book each night. This is so much fun and I plan on taking pictures each night. I will post a few at a time so stay tuned…..

Indiana family update

This Thanksgiving was great for me, hubby and son, but not for my family in Indiana. My grandfather, P, and  my cousin, A, both went into the hospital on Thanksgiving. My grandfather fell and broke his hip and my cousin has MS and was hospitalized for kidney failure. I wanted to let my Indiana family that I love them and am thinking about them!

I found out my grandfather had a new joint put in and is on his way to recovering. My cousin is still in the hospital with other complications. I hope to hear something soon. I love you both very much!
